I WILL ENSURE EXPORT PROMOTION POLICIES ARE MADE IN ABIA – UKOHA
The honourable member-elect for the Arochukwu State Constituency at the Abia State House of Assembly, Dr Michael Onyekwere Ukoha, has stated that one of the cardinal reasons for his coming to the house is to ensure that policies targeted at promoting the exportation of agricultural products from his constituency are made.
Dr Ukoha who made this known while interacting with AFN on the the program ‘Focal point’ said policies that will ensure the people earn from their farm produce are very important at the moment.
“Most women in our place are farmers, and we are to ensure that products from our place are exported. The governor is serious with agriculture, he wants to help, and we will encourage him by making policies that will enhance the exportation of our products from the farm,” Dr Ukoha said.
On the issue of his first assignment as a second-term parliamentarian, he said, “I intend to commence by visiting the communities for town hall meetings, to know of issues that need to be tackled in my first term in the house. My town hall meetings will be regular, so as to ensure that the people know of what is going on with the governor’s decisions in Umuahia.”
Dr Ukoha said “The issue of health care is very important, as a matter of fact during my tenure as the President of my town’s association in the United States, we were able to build a clinic in our town to ensure quality health care is being provided for our people. I will also focus on bringing quality Healthcare to my people.
“Also, one important law that will be made in Abian, is that which will ensure a clean and healthy state. The law protecting our environment from the hazards will be made. Proper waste disposal methods as seen in advanced societies will be embarked on to help clean up the environment to reduce the prevalence of diseases.”
