IKWUANO/UMUAHIA: ONUIGBO DEFEATS APUGO AGAIN, AS TRIBUNAL STRIKES OUT SUIT
The electoral victory of the Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency Hon. Sam Onuigbo has been upheld by the election petition tribunal sitting in Umuahia, the Abia State Capital.
Giving his declaration, the presiding judge, Justice Cornelius Akintayo explained that the allegation raised by the petitioner Mr. Ikechukwu Apugo of the APC was not well founded.
He said the petitioner in his petition before the tribunal had raised several allegation of ballot snatchings, rigging, manipulation and vote buying but failed to substantiate his allegation.
Justice Akintayo argued that since the petitioner failed to present before the court concrete evidence to buttress his allegation, the court will delay in giving its verdict in the way it supposed to be.
He therefore struck the suit out, saying that the petition is lacking in merit. For publication of your news content, articles, videos or any other news worthy materials, please send to email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org .
