0

Operators of commercial tricycle in Umuahia capital city of Abia State are currently unhappy with the N13,000 levy placed on them by Abia State Ministry of Transport.

Abia Facts Newspaper gathered that this fee is a mandatory fee which the ministry claims will be used to paint the Keke’s Abia State colour.

We were reliably informed that N6000 out of the N13,000 is paid at the Ministry of Transport, while the remaining N7000 is paid somewhere at Ossah.

One tricycle operator by name Nduka Orji who our correspondent spoke with expressed displease in the development, lamented that the fee is to high despite the daily ticket they pay for each day.

He called on the state governor to intervene before keke operators will declare showdown with the state government.
